The Duende is a Legend indicative to not only many South American Countries, but ''traveled'' with Spanish Colonists who settle on The Philippine Islands. The term means ''Possessor of A House''. This links The Duende more closely to The Western ''Poltergeist'' as well as The Irish Leprechaun. Goblin-like, The Duende can be ''friendly'' (if not mischievous) creatures. Identified as not having thumbs and wearing ''baggy'' or ill fitting clothes, their abilities are also determined by their overall ''color'' (White being ''Good'' and ''Black'' being Evil''). The exact nature of The Duende regarding ''why'' they possess a Home, is not well known. Some cite they are ''part'' of a Home when built. Other cite that they ''come'' to protect young children from evil until they reach their teenage years. ''Evil'' Duende are said to lure young girls on paths away from their homes.
