A mythological figure found in The Native American Iroquois Tribe – ''Djodi'kwado'' was a ''Horned Serpent Demon'' whom took the guise of a ''handsome, Young Warrior''. He used this appearance to beguile Maidens. He would, per Legend then consume them! He would be killed by a Legendary Warrior, akin to Ancient Greece's ''Hercules''. The Djodi'kwado is seen as personification for being ''wary'' and cautious with regards to taking initial appearance for ''granted''.
