The ''Curse'' of American International Pictures struck again with 1965s ''Die, Monster, Die''. Starring the aged ''Golden Age'' Horror Film Actor, Boris Karloff (in the final run of ''B''-Movies filmed before His death in 1969, The Film was an adaptation fo HP Lovecraft's ''Color Out of Space''. An American Young Man, comes to a quaint English Village to meet His English Love interest. The ''quaint Village'' looks as one would expect – until the last name of The Girl's Family is mentioned. No One will talk about them, for they have been seen as ''Witches and Sorcerers'' for generations. As The Young Man gets closer to The Family Estate (perpetually shrouded in Mist, with all signs of plant life dead and ''burned''), We soon find out that in the 19th Century a ''strange Rock fell from The Sky onto The Family Land'' that releases a strange kind of radiation. Spurring insanity and predictable mutations with some Family Members, The ''Space Rock'' is actually a form of ''Alien Life'' that eventually ''takes over'' The Family Patriarch. The ''Lovebirds'' are the only ones to survive after ''Daddy'' is transformed into an Alien Lifeform and a fire breaks out, burning down The Mansion and ending The Curse set upon The Land. ''Trippy'' filming (Special Effects) make up for the ''Ham Acting'' (even Karloff was a bit over the top). ''Die, Monster, Die'' is still an excellent piece of 1960s ''Technicolor'' Horror.
