''Denglong'' was a mythical Ancient Chinese Beast, which was Son to The Dragon King. His ''task'' was to Guard His Father's Celestial Palace. Standing Guard outside, He attacked all who could possibly harm His ''Liege''. Personified as part Feline, Deer, Shrimp, Reptile, Snake and Camel (a bizarre Hybrid, it seems), examples of Denglong )statues) can still be found ''guarding'' outside of former Royal Residences.
