‘’Dando’s Dogs’’ is an English Folk Tale which goes back many Centuries. Relating to the previously told Tale of ‘’The Wild Hunt’’ and ‘’The Ghost Riders in The Sky’’, Dando was said to be a rather ‘’sinful and self-centered’’ Priest. Before His ‘’Vows’’, Dando was an able Huntsman and was well noted for His ‘’keen Hunting Dogs’’. Dando also had another ‘’bad habit’’. He drank…A LOT. One particular Hunt, Dando demanded His companions give Him alcohol. He drank and drank….AND DRANK. But nothing could appease His ‘’thirst’’. Dando loudly proclaimed that His friends needed to go to Hell (if need be) and get more. Suddenly, a ‘’Dark Huntsman’’ appeared (assumedly The Devil?) and offered Dando a ‘’drink so good’’, He would never ‘’get enough’’. True to The Stranger’s word, The Drink did it’s job. The Figure promptly disappeared – much to Dando’s distress. Calling His Hounds, Dando took off after The Man….and vanished. His Hounds can still be heard, chasing their Master and howling – presumedly pursuing Dando in Hell as He tries to find His favorite ‘’drink’’.
