Dame Blanche

  French for White Ladies , this was a Medieval legend of malevolent female spirits who haunt bridges. They appear as beautiful women, all in white. They target handsome young men. As a man passes over the bridge, a Dame Blanche will ask the simple question Will You Dance With Me If the man accepts, she smiles and disappears (basically allowing you to cross the bridge). If the answer is in the negative, she transforms into a hideous, Goblin-like demon and throws you off the bridge to your death!
