The Peoples of Russia’s Southern Caucasus and Georgia venerated ‘’Dali’’ long before Paganism was abandoned for Christianity. Patroness of The Hunt and of those hooved animals most often taken by Humans, Dali would punish Hunters who over hunted. She often took Human form as an ‘’Old Woman’’ or ‘’Beggar’’ to see if a Hunter would be kind and offer some of Their kill. Woe be to those who did not, for Dali would cause Their entire Village to starve. When shown in Art, Dali was portrayed as a ‘’young and beautiful woman, often associated with Rams (a sign of strength).
