The Brazilian Rain Forests of South America are full of legendary tales of spirits and creatures. The Tupi Tribe of Indians, tell of The Curupira. Considered Guardians of The Forest, The Curupira are 4 foot tall, humanoid beings noted for having bright red hair. They will not attack humans who are hunting for food withing their territory , but will destroy any who try to cut down trees or otherwise harm the Forest. Rather than resorting to physical force to removed such enemies, the use their backwards facing feet to draw the intruder deeper and deeper into the Forest (until they become lost and die from lack of food, exposure or prey to more traditional Predators).
