Crop Circles

Regardless if one is a Believer or Skeptic, the phenomenon known as "Crop Circles" are as controversial as any in science. By definition, the occurrence is described as the flattening of various agricultural land plots into different geometrical designs and patterns, by unknown means. Many such "Crop Circles" are documented to have been made by hoaxers. Many others however, defy explanation. Associated with both Paranormal and UFO Researchers, the term "Crop Circle" was coined in the 1970s by Colin Andrews, when the phenomenon first came into Public scrutiny. They appear all over The World - but are more common in Great Britain. Reports are documented in that Country as far back at the 1640s, when they were associated with "Works of The Devil". Patterns appear to be made by the intentional bending and folding of organic material (plant stalks), in such a way - as you created a pattern, visible only from an elevated position. The process takes very little time by some accounts. Often, the symbols are a form of "communication" using a style of writing known as "Pictography". In cases of hoaxers, only 2 people are needed, using very common homemade tools. It should be noted however, that hoaxing patterns are somewhat "crude". Many often questionable videos and films abound, showing strange "ball-like" Objects, hovering above fields, "carving" these intricate designs. In some cases, high to moderate levels of radiation are present, with loss of nutrients in the soil. This is also linked to the theory of "Saucer Nests", or indentations left behind after the supposed landing of Alien Craft. Many cite that The Circles are "messages" of a type for both Humans and other Extraterrestrials. The topic will no doubt continue to be controversial for many more years yet to come.
