Many Cultures use the term ''Crone'' to denote a ''Hag'' or ''Old Woman'' – more often One who is either ''Healer'' or ''Folk Magic'' Practitioner. Some cite the term ''Wise Woman'', based on a Crone being an expert in Herbs and pther more common means of curing illnesses or predicting The Future. Still other Cultures, assign a Crone to being Evil and relative to Witchcraft and Sorcery. By The Middle Ages, the term as also used as a form or verbal insult towards some women.
