1982s ''Creepshow'' was a Horror Anthology Film, directed by Zombie ''King'' George Romero and written by Stephen King. Starring many well known Stars, The Film was a homage by Romero and King to the 1950s and 1960s Pulp Horror Comics ''Tales From The Crypt'', ''Vault of Horror'' etc. Featuring a Prologue and Epilogue when set up the premise of a Young Boy who ''loves'' Horror Comics (especially His favorite ''Creepshow''). His Father is tired of The Boy ''wasting His Time'' on such ''Crap'' and throws it in The Trash. The Boy recovers it and orders thru the Mail a ''genuine Voodoo Doll''. The rest can be ''imagined''. In ''between'' the premise and end is a series of (5) Mini-Tales, the kind which would be found in such Horror Comics. From a long Dead ( and hated) Father, whose scheming Family still meets once a year on ''Father's Day'', to a Professor with a shrew Wife disappointed in His ''Career progress'', to a Wealthy Husband whose learns of a Cheating wife )and His revenge) – to the final (which starred Stephen King Himself), as a ''slow witted'' Hillbilly who ''finds'' a crashed Meteor. The Movie is typical of 80s style Horror Anthology Genre. A sequal was undertaken based on the overall popularity of The first Film (1987), but it did not capture the original's ''zeal''. In an attempt to ''re-vitalize'' The Movies, an American Paid Cable Television Franchise has brought back the general ''feel'' with a Series (penned by new Writers) and starring New Stars. It has a moderate following, and noted for it's ''Gore and Special Effects''.
