British Hammer Studios 1971 "Countess Dracula" was a re-imagining of the story of Elizabeth Bathory, a Hungarian Noblewoman from the 17th Century, who reputedly had virgin women killed, so She could bath in their blood. The Countess thought that by doing so, She would not age. The story us as much legend as fact, with the film centering more on the legend. The Noblewoman hires confederates to capture and kill virgin girls. She finds that by bathing in their blood, She becomes young and beautiful again. To hide this fact, when "young" - She assumes the role of The Daughter of The Countess. Eventually found out and arrested, without Her "blood baths", She reverts to Her aged state. The Countess awaits execution by beheading. Actually well acted and filmed, "Countess Dracula" (while it does include much nudity), really isn't a bad version of the true story, and worth a watch!
