A ''Corpse Road'' was a thoroughfare designed to serve as a transit to be used for the moving of The Dead to a Burial Ground. Thought to be ''bad luck'' to have a Cemetery ''too near'' a Community (save the small ones inside Church Grounds), the constant travel carved out a rough path (by foot and wagon transporting a body). These ''Roads'' would ONLY be used for such transit and normally ''ended'' at a Cemetery. As such, over the Centuries MANY related Ghost Stories and Hauntings were related to a ''Corpse'' or ''Ghost Road''. Many of these ''Roads'' would cease operations by the 18th Centuries in most European Regions as the burying of The Dead became for normalized in Ceremony.
