The Native American Navajo Tribe believed that some forms of ''Demonic or Spiritual'' Possession could only be cured thru extreme magical measure. Medicine Men developed a ''formula'' called ''Corpse Powder'' (by Europeans) and ''Ant'j'' – in Navajo. This was a dry powder said to have been made from the cremated remains of Human Corpses. The ashes were mixed with various Herbs. The Shaman then prayed specially crafted incantations. The Afflicted was then covered in the mixture which remained in place until the ''Spirit'' fled the body.
