From The Ancient Greek meaning ''Lamentation'' – ''Cocytus'' was the reputed ''River of Wailing'' in Hades. NOT to be confused with Styx, Cocytus contained the ''unwanted'' Souls of The Damned (those even so bad, that Hades did not wish to deal with them). Their tormented wails echo throughout all Eternity. The concept was used by Italian Satirist Dante in His ''Inferno'' Novel, as a ''River of Sorrow'', which fed into Styx.
