Clifton, New Jersey is a ''hard working, Labor Town'' – it always has been. Growing up in it's streets One had to be tough. But despite it's reputation, a much darker part of The Town is well know as well. It is said that the very entrance to Hell are located in Clifton. Where? The City's Drainage and Sewage System, of course. The System built in the 1890s and renovated many times (up to the 1970s), are a series of many miles of deep tunnels and passages, used to move sewage and water. So vast in fact, even with maps, no one is really quite sure of just how many miles of tunnels there are or there exact locations. All primary drainage points (drains) empty out into (deep into) local woods. With all this, it is not unusual to believe that Urban Legend could grow. Since the early 20th Century, rumors of local Witch Covens holding Pagan Ceremonies used the deep tunnels for their ''craft''. So too, did Devil Worshipers – to include possible ''Human Sacrifice. Adding to this, many suicides and unsolved murders (bodies) have been found at a spot which is known as The ''Gates of Hell''.

Reports also arose of people seeing strange ''small, humanoid creatures'', moving at ''amazing speeds'', in and out of the entrances of many of the tunnels. In another odd phenomenon, some report ''rocks being thrown from inside the tunnels, outwards – at anyone who came too close''. Those who have ventured into the tunnels and ''survived'' – say that the walls are ''decorated'' with Pagan and Occult symbolism. The deeper one goes, the more ''arcane'' they become – and older. Which lead us to The Legend of The Secret Room. It is said that a small room exists ''somewhere'' in the system. Well hidden, to ''find and access it'' is the only means of traversing our ''existence'' into the Realm of Hell. However, it;s ''door'' is well hidden. So well, that only one with proven psychic abilities will be able to ''access'' the entrance. As stated, Clifton's ''Gates of Hell'' may well be a simple Urban Legend, the kind found in any City, anywhere. Or, it may be what it is purported to be......The Entrance to Perdition itself!
