Clahuchu

Also known as "The Devil Men" or also locally as "The Ju Ju", they were said to be an Ancient Race of strange Beings said to have lived on the Island of Haiti, thousands of years in the past. The Clahuchu were said to be roughly 4 feet tall, had horns and cloven hooves. They were powerful Wizards that could command not only Nature, but understood what is now called "lost knowledge". What caused The Ju Ju Men to die off is unknown. However, in 1740 - a detachment of French Marines found two mummified bodies in a deep cave. Intrigued, the bodies (a male and female), were sent back to France. The Devil Men were put on display in 1800. In private ownership in the 1960s, they were both x-rayed during an official examination to determine their authenticity. The bones appeared human and no signs of extensive taxidermy was found. However, their age was placed at the 1780s. Hoaxed - perhaps, but just "what" types of "humans" they were, or how the horns and hooves were "attached" is still a mystery.
