Chimera

Another Ancient terror was The Chimera. Dating to Greece, these were another type of hybrid monsters. The Chimera was composed of the head of a Dragon, a Lion and a Goat. Huge wings were added to it's massive body. Some versions of Chimera have it with a snake for a tail. Legend states that The Chimera is the sibling of the Hound of Hades - Cerebus. Described in Homer's Illad, The Chimera was an omen of fierce storms (and other natural disasters). Capable of breathing fire, The Chimera was very difficult to kill (or contain).
