Part ''Crime Drama'' merged into Horror, 1966s ''Chamber of Horrors'' was originally filmed for American Television, with the hopes of creating a series (ala ''Sherlock Holmes''). Set in late 19th Century Maryland, a ''brilliant, but hyper-insane'' Killer is caught by Police, but escapes (faking His own death by chopping off His hand, secured by cuffs to a Prison Train). He resurrects Himself – now with a collection of attachable ''devices'' and decides to seek revenge on those who ''wronged Him''. Somewhat ''episodic'' as was the genre in some Horror films of the Era – it's well known Cast did nothing to boost the poor reception by Critics. ''Hammy'' to some, ''Chamber of Horrors'' is still a clever piece of mid-1960s Horror ''fluff'' still fun to watch.
