Of Incan (Mesoamerican) origins, the symbol known as a ''Chakana'' was seen as imagery associated with the ''Superiority of The Gods''. Later known by European Colonists as The ''Stepped Cross'' or ''Incan Cross'', the symbol consisted of (10) sides with a Circle placed in the center of The Cross-like construction. The Incans also identified The Chakana as a image associated with The Spirits of The Underworld. It's first appearance in Incan Culture is placed to 1,200 BC.
