From Spain and Portugal. The Fable of The Cenchris was centered around another famous Mythical monster - The Ancient Greek Gorgon. The Cenchris looked for all purposes as a normal snake. Said to have been born of the spilt blood of Medusa, it's bite caused paralysis and an internal burning (as being on fire). Death was said to occur within hours of being bitten. It was said if one drank the blood of a person already infected, the victim could be cured. The Cenchris was easy to spot. It was said that it could only travel in a straight line!
