It's 1977....EVERY Filmmaker it seemed (big budget and small) wanted to cash in on Warner Brothers Studios ''The Exorcist''. ''Cathy's Curse'' was one of them. Exceptionally poorly made (maybe an aspiring Film student's fantasy), the film's ''story'' is actually good. When a small Family loses their ''weird Aunt'' to death, ''She'' leaves Her favorite Niece a really ugly Doll. Soon, we find out the real reason for ''The Gift''. Auntie it seems, has put Her Spirit into The Doll and is in the process of ''taking over'' little Cathy. Cathy starts to exhibit very strange behavior (just like Auntie) – with all kinds of associated Paranormal ''bumps and floating objects'' plaguing The Family, now frantic to separate Cathy from Her ''Doll'' and break the Possession. Ending without the possibility of a sequel – ''Cathy's Curse'' – while VERY silly in film quality, does have GREAT gore effects. You could worse for a Saturday afternoon.
