''Captain Kronos, Vampire Hunter'' (1974)

1974s "Captain Kronos, Vampire Hunter" was British Hammer Studios last Production before The Studio closed (thus ending England's "Golden Age of Horror"). Designed to be the first in a series of films, it combined Vampires with Swashbuckling swordsplay. Set in England around the 16th Century, a village is plagued by mysterious deaths, that leave victims dried out husks, drained of blood. That and the local Noble Family becoming younger and younger - leads the village Doctor to call upon His old Army Friend, Captain Kronos for help. Kronos you see, is a vampire hunter. With his trusty sidekick, a hatchback - Kronos finds that The Nobles are vampires. His Doctor friend is also attacked and becomes The Living Dead (but is killed before He can fully change). Kronos kills the vampires with a silver forged Rapier blade and saves the village. He and His hunchbacked pal ride off in search of more adventures.
