The Cactus Cat also was said to feature a forked tail. The tail was of bony composition and was used to batter at Cactus plants (so it could drink the plants fluid with ease). The legend of Cactus Cat was often told by 18th and 19th Century Western Settlers traveling across The Plains. Another variation of Cactus Cat , is linked to the strong fermented juice of the Cactus. The Cats seem to like to drink the fluid to get drunk. At this point they howl at the Moon and are generally at their most dangerous .
