The lowest form of Greek Orthodoxy’s ‘’Demon’’ Classes – The ‘’Bypochtbonia’’ were ‘’dumb and senseless’’ Beasts. They could neither ‘’hear, see or speak’’. They relied on their heightened sense of smell. In particular, was their grotesque appearance which – caused fear. The tangible emotion could be smelled by The Demon, who would then track down it’s prey – to consume. Regulated to Hell as a ‘’Tormentor’’, The Bypochtbonia was another ‘’idea’’ borrowed by American Horror Writer HP Lovecraft (and others).
