Another TV ''Horror Maven'' Dan Curtis piece ''Burnt Offerings'' was a 1976 Horror Film which provided a ''new look'' into ''The Haunted House'' Genre. Slick and well filmed, The Plot deals with a Family looking to Summer Rent a Home. Picking up a ''deal'' with an old Victorian Era Home (a fixer upper), it appears that The Owner's Family was cursed, We soon learn that The ''House'' has a ''Life of it's Own'', slowly taking over The Mother of Our vacationing Family. The more She ''repairs'' The House, the more ''She becomes'' the living embodiment of ''it'. Dad figures it out too late and The Curse is complete as Mom kills Her Family – making The House ''shiny and new''. A New Family moves it and notes the ''wonderful collection'' of ''old pictures'' of past ''Families'' – with our prior ''Victims'' Family Photo just ''added''. Scary and inventive, ''Burnt Offerings'' is well worth a watch and is a classic piece of late 1970s Horror well done by Karen Black and Oliver Reed (Starring).
