Derived from an Irish variation on The Arthurian Legend Cycle, ''Brangaine'' was a component of the ''Tristan and Iseult'' Tale. Maid to Iseult, Her Mistress was wed off to King Mark (Cornwall). An Ally to King Arthur, Mark was still a cruel Ruler. Iseult did not love Him and was forced into an arranged marriage. To save Her ''honor'' (virginity), Brangaine ''disguised'' Herself and fooled King Mark into thinking it was Iseult on Their wedding night. Finding out the deception, King Mark sought out Arthur for Justice. Arthur refused, taking the ''side'' of His Knight – Sir Tristan. As a result, Arthur and Marks alliance was broken.
