‘’Bona Dea’’ was an Ancient Roman Goddess, whose Cult dates to around the 2nd BC. The personification of fertility, Bona Dea was also Patron of The State of Rome, in particularly it’s female population. She was also Patron of most Roman Noblewomen, to include The Caesarians. Most future Wife’s of a Caesar had to venerate Bona Dea, as a means of establishing Their ‘’chaste’’ character – EVEN if They were not in fact, ‘’virginial’’.
