A Scottish legend of supposed Medieval Origins, The Beithir seemed to take on a resurgence in popularity around the 1930s in Scotland. They are taken possibly from The English ''Dragon Myths''. The Beithir are snake-like creatures that are said to be massive in length (as much as 15-feet long). The Beithir can easily consume an entire horse or cow. Linked to reports of over-reproducing Grass Snakes and European Eels in the 1930s, many Mythologists link these reports to the many so called ''Ancient'' stories of The Beithir. The most popular tale tells that The Beithir's bite is lethal, but one can be saved IF they can reach the same body of water that The Beithir came from. By doing so, the bite will heal. Much as with The Loch Ness Monster legend, ''sightings'' of The Beithir were quite common, with 1975 being that last such ''encounter''.
