The Befana myth comes from Italy, and tells of a Fairy Witch who is not evil (as most were). She is only seen on The Feast of The Epiphany (a Church Holiday). Much like Santa Claus (except Befana only wears Black), Befana travels the skies on her broomstick and brings candies and cakes to the good children of a Village (and coal for bad ones). It is important to always leave a plate of soft ricotta cheese for Befana. This is due to the fact that Befana had no teeth.
