Ancient Greek by origin (with other cultures adopting it in some form), The Basilisk is a dragon-type creature. So deadly, it was called The King of All Reptiles. So fearsome it's appearance, one glace could kill. It's venom could fell a Bull Elephant in seconds. Oddly, legend states that The Basilisk cannot stand the natural odor of but one mammal The Weasel. The Basilisk is said to have a serpentine body with a Rooster-like head. It has sharpened feather-like appendages running down it's body. It also has 4 long legs with claws (although some varieties have has many as 8 legs). Their reputation would lend their mythical name to the Artillery piece known as The Basilisk or Deadly Serpent.
