A Thelemic component from Occultist Aleister Crowley’s Belief System – ‘’Babalon’’ was a Chaos Deity. Closely associated with The Christian Revelation theory of ‘’Babylon’’, a Pagan City of great tempest – ‘’She’’ was seen as ‘’Mother of Abominations’’. Some cite that Babalon was akin to ‘’Lilith’’ and Her Judaic relationship to ‘’All Evil’’ and the ''creation of Demons'', in Crowley’s ‘’universe’’, She was the personification of a Female’s unbridled ‘’sexual desire’’. This was seen as a powerful (controllable) weapon. Also portrayed as the color Red (Passion and Desire), several specific Thelemic Rituals dedicated to Babalon were required for most Covens and later Abbeys, that followed Crowley.
