Acephali

 Yet another oddity from Ancient Greece is The Acephali. A curious race of mythical beings, they only appear briefly in ancient texts  but seem to be very memorable (for some reason). Human is shape, they are roughly 6 feet tall and very strong. Born without a neck or head, these features were placed directly in the middle of their chests! A plot device in 3rd Century A.D. - The Acephali were adapted into early Christian morality plays as Magicians (such as the biblical Simon Magus), who were cursed with this appearance for their foolish requests for true power.
