A staple of Vietnamese Mythology – ''Au Co'' was a ''Creation Being'' who was Wife to the primary Deity known as ''The Dragon Lord''. By ''supernatural means'', Au Co gave ''birth'' to Humankind via a large ''egg sac''. These ''Children'' were the first Vietnamese, or The Bach Viet. Also called ''The Mother'', Au Co was also seen as the ''Fount'' (beginning) of The Hung Dynasty Kings, who are traced to the 2nd Century BC.
