One of Ancient Greece’s most ‘’famed’’ in it’s Mythology – ‘’Atlas’’ was one of The Titans. As we have seen, The Titans ‘'battled’’ The Olympians for supremacy of The Earth. ‘’Original Gods’’, almost all The Titans were defeated and slain by Zeus and His ‘’Forces’’. Some, however – were left alive and punished by Zeus. Atlas, a massive Giant of fantastic strength, was ‘’doomed’’ to serve as ‘’Pillar’’ to The Earth. He would spend His Eternity (as Titans are immortal), ‘’holding up’’ The Earth on His shoulders. In reality, Atlas would lend His name to the first compilation of Navigational Maps (16th Century AD), and would continue to be known as such. In more ancient times, it was Philosopher Plato, would identified what would later be called The ‘’Atlantic Ocean’’ – as The ‘’Sea of Atlas’’.
