In Dahomey, Africa – The Yaruba and Fons Tribe follow various Folk Magic Beliefs which would eventually translate into Haitian Voodoo Practices. One such is that an ''Assagu'' is an Evil Possessor Spirit that finds it's way into Humans (by Hex or Curse). Known as ''The Crab'', One so ''possessed'' by an Assagu will stiffen (especially in the arms), and their hands will wither up to resemble a Crab's Claw.
