A Ritual followed by many Christian Denominations (in some form), but mostly practiced by Catholic Christianity, ''Ash Wednesday'' is where ashes, taken from the burning of Palms (used in The Ceremony of Palm Sunday, prior to Easter), are also mixed with Chrisum Oil. During the pre-Lent Season, ashes are placed in the sign of a Cross on the forehead of the Believer. Traditionally, the customary exclamation is ''Remember, From Dust you Came, and To Dust you shall Go''. This is in relation to the Story of Adam and Eve's expulsion from Paradise, and the fact that Man and Woman are no longer ''Immortal Beings''. The Ashes also signify remittance of Sin by both abstaining from ''Worldly Pleasures'' and Fasting (not consuming certain foods for a 40 day Period). The Ashes typically remain on the forehead for a 24-hour Period.
