''Area 51''

The "Mecca" of all American UFO mythology and conspiracy theories, "Restricted Area, 4808 North" (as it is found on maps), is officially hailed as "Groom Lake Testing & Training Range". Administered as part of The USAFs Edward AFB, The Site, ironically called "Area 51", is 75 miles Northwest of Las Vegas, Nevada. From it's official inception as a "Training Site" in 1955, until July of 2013 - The US Government denied it's very existence. When it was finally acknowledged, The Government cited "National Security" as the cause for such unprecedented (and long term) secrecy. In fact, with the advent of The software program "Google Earth" which fave average citizens the abilities to view Earthbound images taken from geosynchronous satellite telemetry, ANY images of Area 51 were duly "whited out". Originally a WW II Auxiliary Bomber airfield, the Site is "near" the small Town of Rachael, Nevada. A stretch of State Highway 375 runs directly next to the perimeter of "The Base". This near 100 mile length of road is also called "The Extraterrestrial Highway" (more later). The Base is plain in appearance. In fact, it resembles nothing more than a simple military airfield. However, the "real" Base is said to be MANY stories underground. Secret laboratories and research facilities have existed for decades - with but one purpose....the study of Alien Spacecraft that have been recovered. Some state the earliest recovery was the 1897 Aurora Crash to the obvious "Incident " at Roswell, New Mexico.

Crafts are supposedly "back Engineered" at Area 51. The "fruits" of which have propelled human technology forward by centuries. Fiber Optics, Stealth abilities, CDs - most of our past 50 years of technology is claimed to be owed to such "work". These as well as "other types" of which are kept under lock (and lock) and key! The other theories linked with Area 51, is that it served as a home (or still is), to visiting Alien Life. Many stories concerning a myriad of Alien contacts from MANY Galaxies have come to Area 51. The Government admitted it's secrecy was leveled against Soviet Russia in the 1960s. The Government was developing U-1 and U-2 technologies and that Area 51 was the birthplace of American Stealth technology. The civilian side of the story is interesting as well. Scientists are flown into the Base from McClaren Airport aboard private and unregistered aircraft. Heavy plain clothed Agents abound. No cameras, cells or any electronic devices are allowed (and are confiscated and checked). Also, families who may even mention that loved ones work at "51" can be sanctioned. Those brave ex-Scientists who left "The Program" and decided to talk about what they know, have had their lives threatened (with attempts even being made). Too high profiled, some cannot be so readily killed. These people are severely discredited. One such Scientist is Robert Lazare. Lezare claims to have worked on Alien propulsion and craft design. He also claimed to have "seen" The Roswell Craft and Kecksburg Capsule. His observations (both written and in interviews), are compelling if true.

Finally we look upon the much visited and much written about State Highway 375, or the infamous "Extraterrestrial Highway". The stretch of road is the location of hundreds of UFO sightings and resulting Photography (AND Films). Often, people are chased away by Government Security Forces (who are armed and given "lethal force" authority). Although somewhat in the "light", the true nature of Area 51 will never be known. Celebrated in song and story, Area 51 has featured as a plot device in MANY popular Sci-Fi movies and literature. It will probably continue as such for many more years.
