Many Countries in South America have a Araidai fable. The Araidai were mythical Goblin-like creatures with supernatural powers, who lived in the Jungles and Forests. Humanoid in appearance, they were composed of supposed tree wood, moss and other plant material. Like most South American Creature Fables, The Araidai were Protectors of Nature, who shunned humans. Due to their looks, they could easily blend into their World and not be seen. The Araidai were said to communicated in a language that sounded like a Horse neigh. In this, they would also be hard to locate. Some species were also said to have their feet placed backwards on their bodies also as a means of confusing those who tried to hunt them. The Araidai had the ability to predict the future, making their capture a necessity for some.
