This obscure Arthurian Legend Cycle character named ''Amr'', only appears in non-Mallory Tales, beginning around the 12^th Century AD. According to these side versions, ''Amr'' was an illegitimate Son to King Arthur. His origins are very similar to those of Mallory's ''Mordred'' figure. So much so, that many Scholars see Amr as a variation on a theme. Amr too, (like Mordred) – coveted His Father's Crown and Kingdom. Raising an Army and a Rebellion – Arthur had little choice but to slay Him.
