Both The Ashanti and Akan Tribes of Africa associate ‘’Amokye’’ as ‘’Guardian to The Other World’’ or more traditionally, The Afterlife. She is a ‘’Spirit Deity’’ – described as an ‘’Old and Wise Woman’’ (perhaps even a Witch). She appears to the dying to comfort Them before They pass on. Once Their Soul is free of Their body, Amokye then escorts them to The Afterlife. She also makes sure no Evil Spirits try to kidnap the Soul to use it for Evil.
