A character of Geoffrey of Monmoth’s Arthurian Cycle, ‘’Ambrosius Aurelianus’’ first ‘’appeared’’ in several of His 8th Century AD volumes. Claiming to be King Uther Pendragon’s (Arthur’s Father) Brother, Ambrosius was part of the belief that The Arthurian Legend was based in Roman mythos (especially with regards to Their Occupation of Britain). Said by Geoffrey to have been defacto ‘’King’’ prior to Uther’s ‘’Unification’’ attempts of Ancient Warlords under ‘’One King’’, Ambrosius was said to have been a ''Roman Cavalry Centurion'' who (like His Brother Arthurius), went ‘’rouge’’ against Rome and settled in Britain. In some versions, Ambrosius is said to have actually been The Wizard, Merlin (using a guise to follow a young Uther in His ill-gotten Crown).
