Amabie

 From The Feudal Japanese Edo period, The Amabie was a part-Human and part=Fish creature. Somewhat benevolent, The Amabie would adopt a Village (if it contained good people). The Amabie would tell Elders of the Village where to find plenty of fish or other sea life for the people to catch and eat. The creatures would also warn of impending storms and hurricanes. Conversely, if a Amabie took a dislike to your Village, they would provide you with false information to further aid one with their undoing. They would also spread disease to those Villages deemed bad .
