Deriving from many West African Folk Magic Beliefs, the use of Drums were key to the invocation of various Deities. As such, these Drums were often seen infused with the Spirit (Power) of a powerful Loa known as Adya Houn'to. He was a formless Spirit who served as a ''conduit'' or sorts to channel the summoned God or Spirit Power. He would be transplanted to The Caribbean and later United States – when such Folk Magic Systems took root there.
