Acheri

 Heard of in many Native American myths are a race of supernatural beings known as The Acheri. They are malevolent creatures (female by most accounts). Described as small and pale, they are credited with bringing disease into one's village. The Acheri live on high mountain tops are are seen in Winter. They come for children that are not will cared for by their Parents. These victims they infect (which will cause their deaths by Spring). It is said by tying a red ribbon around the neck of the infected, it will ward of The Acheri.
