  1. OK. But you would come? :) If yes, I am putting HD version in description.
  2. Thanks for explanation. :)
  3. I'm sorry for writing this again... I just meant to ask if it was intentionally done, or by mistake maybe. Not it is: knight bachelor -> knight banneret -> knight errant. Did we want it to be: knight bachelor -> knight errant -> knight banneret? I don't mean to open this topic again, I just meant to ask it just in case. :)
  4. I'm sorry to hear that, you won't be able to come... But we will play another time. :) Bradley, how are you doing with non-HD Crusader? :)
  5. For Skype one should enter his username, such as username789... Although, if you hesitate to add it - it is unnecessary. If we want to chat, we would most likely come online at GameRanger, as some of us might use Skype, some use MSN Messenger, some other use something else, etc... GameRanger is something that most of us will have, especially because we play Stronghold, Stronghold Crusader, Stronghold 2, and Stronghold Legends using this service.
  6. One my friend from Slavic Warlords will join us as well. His nick is ~SW~ Sille.
  7. Maybe it is a temporary problem... :/ Maybe you could try it again with someone. By the way, which game version do you have? I have tested it versions 1.4 and 1.4.1, and I can also see pother people playing wit those two versions. I guess it should work with other versions as well, but either way, all players must have the same version of the game. Also, after the game is started by GameRanger, minimize the game, and of the firewall is blocking the game.
  8. It is time consuming indeed - to make a scenario like that... It may be better if few guys could share the work maybe. I would offer my help, but I cannot promise I would have enough time. :(
  9. Hi, I just meant to add some more stuff, after you added GameRanger ID to Messaging section at our profiles. What I wanted to suggest is to pick some other messaging services which would be actually used by our members. For example, Skype isn't there, while I don't know if anyone uses any of those services - with exception to MSN Messenger. Also, could that be possible to put GameRanger ID to the top of the that section, as this one might be the most important to us? And if name of the section could be renamed to "Messaging and GameRanger", or something like that, as GameRanger could be used for chat (we could create a room for up to eight people to chat)... These are only some ideas, I'm happy that we have GameRanger ID there now.
  10. Oh, sorry.. I was looking at it, as I would borrow him my disc, but, on the other hand, it is giving him all my files at once. :(
  11. I have an idea how we could help Bradley to install non-HD version. Some of us could send him the installation of the game - one can create the image of Stronghold Crusader CD. He will be able to install the game, but he will not be able to play with this image file. Nevertheless, he does have his own disc, which is hopefully in enough good condition for Bradley to start the game with. I know this could seem like something that is not legal, but it is not. It would be the same, as I came to my neighbor and install the game on his PC. :) Still, for him to be able to play the game on his own, he would have to have the original CD, but the original CD is still at my house. :)
  12. Thanks, Chris, I added my ID there. :)
  13. I agree. Thanks, I believe this one will be more useful. :) I also meant to post this again, so it would not stay unnoticed. That's right. Also, we might be able to play a similar game like the two us us played that day. To bring in AI lords as our allies, give them 8000 gold, and without no rush. This way those AI lords would distract the other team, and give a chance to the team which would be considered as the one with less chances to win otherwise.
  14. I added Vetka to the list right now. :)
  15. That's right, my timezone is 8 hours ahead of your timezone. I can play both - HD and non-HD version. I mean, I would patch the game, if needed. Bradley, is it possible for you to install non-HD Crusader? If you have installation for HD only, maybe you could download somehow installation for non-HD Crusader, and play it by inserting your disc for HD. Yes, we would play it using GameRanger. By the way, Chris, would that be possible to enable members to insert our GameRanger ID, so it could be visible with our profile? I mean, in a way, like you made messaging section - I guess this one should be inside personal - besides email address. Also, it is not that important - we can also deal to add this ID to our signatures, or something like that. :) We haven't taught about a map yet - at least I haven't. If no one has any other suggestions, we could play The Wet Land again, but I can have a look at maps, and see if we could play some other. Right now there are four of us who could like to play - I would be happy if we could all play it together. :) EDIT That's right. 16. I'm glad you like it as well. One more thing crossed my mind today - the trick with quarries and oxes - when someone builds walls around quarries, and ox tethers near stockpile, he is able to get stone from across the map in a minute, and he avoids possibility for his oxes to be killed on the way to castle. There are also some dirty and childish trick I saw people use (very rarely), but those are not worth mentioning. :) Anyone with just a little fairness knows that those things are not right to do. Such as building woodcutters hut in front of someones gates... I have never seen someone using this one, but I will mention it: to build a woodcutters hut where I expect pitch is placed, to set it to fire, and to set the fire the pitch as well. :) It wouldn't be fair as well. :) Speaking about Stronghold 2 - it may be possible that some rules in this one will not be needed at all, but you know about that better than me. Although there is one rule I know about: no sending assassins on an enemy lord. At least I heard about that one, but I must admit, that it seems pretty tough to kill an enemy lord this way, when makes good defenses. Assassins in Stronghold Crusader don't have any armor, and they are very vulnerable to archers attacks, but I don't know about Stronghold 2. Troops act differently there. :)
  17. I hope you will make it. If you manage to do something of those, you may call me - we can test it if it works.
  18. I'm glad you like the idea. I hope other will share their opinion as well. :)
  19. I'm glad you're in, Bradley! By the way, for all members who have HD versions... Would that be possible for you to reinstall the game, and to play with non-HD version. Later you could patch it to HD. I don't know about Chris, but I believe he won't be able to play HD version. If not - not a great problem, I only meant that this way more of us could play. :)
  20. Hi, I hope you might be interesting for one Stronghold Crusader game.
  21. Hey, guys! I was writing about this before, but I am writing about it for the first time here at this forum. We get along pretty well when we play Stronghold Crusader in multiplayer - non of us does some stuff that other don't approve. (At least I hope so :) ) Still, it would be nice if some other people would join our Stronghold Crusader gaming events, but the only problem is that fact that many players out there play in a way we don't like. If we created some our rules, we could invite them to join our events without fearing are they gonna play in an "expert way" or the way we like. We could all play in their way as well, but we do not want to play in one pattern. I will write down some things that should be among these rules in my opinion. Through these rules, we would only describe other how we like to play, and how we would expect from them to play, if they wanted to play with us. The red rules are important ones, while the orange ones are mandatory. limit at number of woodcutters (30 for example) limit at number of mills (5 for example) limit at number of waterpots (5 for example) no portable shields laddermen trick forbidden (training lots of cheap laddermen only to disband them, and to create high population for taking taxes. similar can be done with any other cheap unit) trick building walls around quarries forbidden catapult firing at troops (mangonels and trebuchets are allowed to do this) no cow throwing unless they are thrown into the castle no fire, or no putting enemy castle to fire only EDIT: I have ejected those orange rules, and left only the red, mandatory, ones in order to avoid confusion. These are some of them that crossed my mind at this moment. These explanations: only in order to stop people from making large non-working population for later taxation, or recruiting massive armies. Wood is needed at the beginning, so making small limit for woodcutters wouldn't be right - they are needed not just for taxation, they are needed as working population. only in order to stop people from making large non-working population for later taxation, or recruiting massive armies. one will hardly need more than five mills. If one needs more, it should be solved by placing those closer to stockpile. only in order to stop people from making large non-working population for later taxation, or recruiting massive armies. Those guys are mostly non-working, but they are needed if someone sets your castle to fire, or part of your economy, but they are not needed in huge numbers. If one is worried that his castle my be set to fire, or something he build, my advice would be not to place building to close to each other. At least when those structures are expensive or vital for you for some reason. trick with the shields is, in my opinion, only exploit of the game, and it can provide more protection to the soldier than tower itself. If they were really that effective, no one would bother so much building castles. :) Also, we do not want to make any troops almost impossible to kill... needless to say anything. :) obvious reasons. :) catapults were designed to destroy walls, not to kill troops. Also, catapults could never be effective against troops in real life, but in Crusader they can be devastating to slowly moving troops. Also if this is allowed, the fight may become whole different - players would start building catapults to use them as cannons against troops, but that's just not the way it was. this shall be up to players to deal how to play. this shall be up to players to deal how to play. I like playing with fire, as this makes the game more interesting in my opinion. Also, if you like, you may have a look at these: alpha rules and liga rules. There you might find some ideas. But my main goal is not to lose the beauty of the game - we don't want to add to many limitations. :) Although these four I mentioned above are two rules in fact: no large non-working population, and no shields. Speaking about spamming some army types - I could say that anyone who uses large groups of one single unit can always be easily stopped - each of them have their weaknesses. Please, share your opinion, so we could find the best solution. Once more - I believe we don't need the rules for ourselves, but it would be nice to have them, for any new members... Also, I don't say we should be strict about these - after all, it will always be on us to fight with honor. :)
  22. Some maps I uploaded were not created by myself in fact. I am not the only one who plays Stronghold Crusader in my family, but I surely the only who would submit any maps created. :) Nevertheless she would be willing to upload it, but she knows I would do that. Also, I would write at each map who created the map - but speaking about those older ones, non of us remembers who exactly made each one of them. :) But for newer maps I will be writing "map created by ...", just like I wrote it at this one. I would like to add that, although I didn't create this one, I was present while she was working on it. :D And yes, it was intended to play from SW spot, but it can be interesting if you take NW spot as well. There is little space, and little resources - it might be tough. I have started one game like that, but having Lionheart as my ally right next to me. It's working pretty nicely, although I could say - maybe easier that I expected. They are all attacking Lionheart, while I defend him, and if someone wants to attack me, he has to go near my allies stronghold, where is my army defending him. That's right, I do know about that. It seems like they put a lot of work to accomplish that, but those scenarios can turn out great! I played Four Brothers when Lord of Hell suggested it to me - pretty hard mission, and I must admit - I failed to win that one (with no using of portable shields - that's my motto :D ). It is possible to create a castle that AI would repair, and everything. I don't recall details maybe, but I believe one should create the (large) castle (for more AI's) on a skirmish map. Then save the map, create castles for those AI lords in AI editor, start the skirmish game, save the game, and move the .sav file to maps folder, and change the extension to .map, and probably to change the type of map from skirmish to custom war. It seems like a lot of work, but in the end, you have one legendary scenario map :) (although one cannot play it in variety of ways like we do with those extreme maps). I would like to add that I am not certain about all details with, how to create a scenario like that, but it can be found at HG.
  23. Hi, I have just tried to submit a map to SHN downloads section. I got this error message. Regards! EDIT: Removed Server name & confidential directories.
  24. These days we we're playing extreme games against computer opponents by giving them the outposts, while we would start with more gold (4000 gold). This is challenging cause this way you need to withstand attacks of greater armies... But what those attacks were lacking was organization. For some reason they were not collecting army and making well organized sieges - they just send their troops, and their defense is not as good as it could be. This is another idea of mine. :) We can give them more gold, and give us an outpost (and also choose amount of army, and which soldiers we want to receive from the outpost - or outposts). This way, if you give them 40000 gold, you would have enough to build a good defenses - you can prepare yourself for the attacks, and also, when it comes to sieges - their castles will be better defended. I must admit, Caliph was doing quite well with defense either way, but Wolf for example - for some reason, his castle is stronger if you give him more gold. I am also submitting one extreme map right now. :) It's called Lavovi doline (Lions of the vale). That is the version without outposts. Regards!
