  3. Members of the Mutiplayer Gaming Community are expected to behave in accordance with these rules at all times. Failure to do so or any breaches of these rules will result in you being thrown out of this subcommunity and not allowed back in again. Absolutely no personal attacks, nasty behaviour, taunting, baiting, jeering or insulting of others whatsoever either in game or on the site. Be respectful to others at all times. No cheating. Absolutely no use of trainers or other out of game cheats to gain a competitive advantage over other players or for any other reason. All players must abide by the same rules agreed beforehand on the site. Each game can set their own rules (e.g no burning carts) but all players must abide by these once playing. All discussion of the game rules must be done before the match starts. To minimise disruption and prevent potential disputes, all discussion must be done and rules made clear before playing the game. This prevents members from not knowing what they are walking into when they play. The Host has ultimate say over any settings. Members can request changes to eg starting settings, but ultimately it is the responsibility and final decision of the host to balance things out in everyone's favour. Do not expect Moderators to wade in on inter-factional disputes or police Tournaments. Unless members are clearly breaking either these rules or the site rules, or it is appropriate to do so, do not expect site Moderators to intervene in personal disputes.
  4. If you are interested in joining the Multiplayer Gaming Community and taking part in field battles with users on the site, please make sure you have read and performed the following actions before requesting to join this club. Make sure you have completed to the best of your ability the information in your user profile under the 'Multiplayer information' heading. Other users will need this information to quickly find you and connect with you via the platform you are using. Make sure you agree to the rules of multiplayer games in this forum. If you do not agree you should not join. If you sign up or play a game and do not abide by the rules you will be thrown out of this sub-community and not allowed to return again. This forum (and associated topics for each game) are ONLY to be used for directly scheduling or discussing multiplayer games with other members. Technical support for multiplayer related issues should be placed in the main forum for each game here. If you are not interested in directly playing with other members, you should not join or post in this community. Once you have scheduled a game or set this up, assuming it is appropriate to do so, you should post a Tournament in the Tournaments section. In other words, discussion around matches and games goes in this forum categorised by game, actual Tournaments and discussion thereafter go in a specific Tournament created for that event. You should discuss only that match and Tournament in that Tournament, including for instance any connection issues, wins/loses and much more. If you are looking to join or create a new Fsaction, this should be done in the Factions section of the Multiplayer forum. A minimum of 3 members are required to set up a new Faction. Factions are subject to their own creation rules.
  5. The Stronghold 2 Modders Community has also now launched! You can join at the following link:

  10. There’s always time to make new ones 😉 I was going to myself actually but only ever started work on an Ice Queen.
  11. This message is for @ Spy - collectively as a team I believe we have found out what the 4 map files you have found refer to. I will send you a PM with some more information over the next day or two and it would be good to work with you on this if interested.
  12. I used to love the Ice faction but ended up using evil more throughout the summer this year. The problem as @ Asophix has already described, is that Evil is just too powerful especially on Stake Hurlers and bats and there is just almost nothing you can do against them especially in groups. Bats can destroy almost any defence in seconds while stake hurlers in groups, large groups especially create choke points or make it almost impossible for any army to bypass particularly behind cats. Unless bats are used - but the one game in particular I am thinking of, did not use fantasy units so in this case it was brutal. I’ll see if I can find the recording and upload it to YouTube. I don’t find Werewolves too powerful but maybe that’s because I’ve never been on the receiving end of them in large numbers. I do tend to use them a lot myself though. Frost giants are too strong against normal units but an easy counter discovered by Asophix is to use Knights who take care of them in seconds. In numbers there is basically no stopping them. I had a game recently where as soon as PT ended, he send a bunch of Frost giants over, dismantled my two walls and got into my castle. I still won, but I could easily have lost after that. Another exploit or hack I’ve seen on ice is to recruit mass white witches, send them straight to the enemy lord and basically end the game. Percival’s power is very disproportionate too in my view causing way more damage than need be. It wipes out a whole bunch of troops at a time. The sorcerer is by far the most powerful special unit (Merlin, Ice Queen, Sorcerer) just based in his special attack. It basically destroys large swathes of armies in seconds. Arthur is useless to me or at least I never learned to play this faction well. When I was younger pretty much everything wiped it out, maybe it could be different now but I just don’t like it because the game mechanics feel off to me and there are just no fantasy troops. The other hack as well, to sure if this is related to Arthur or not but sieging towers (Lookout towers specifically here) cause troops to be thrown out of the tower. It is not fair and should not be happening. Stake hurlers can also attack troops in towers which seems like cheating because you just create a bunch of stake hurlers and take them out from afar. Trebuchets are overpowered compared to catapults and quickly cause a lot of damage from estates as an example, if you are playing on a small map with estates over a mountain for instance, it’s easy to fire trees over the mountain and wipe out all the enemy buildings with little comeback. They are a nuisance and should either be disabled or made available to all factions. I also think a new game skirmish option to this effect may be useful. One common request I see (or rather a demand) from multiplayer players is of “no fly “ - meaning no aerial units. I personally don’t have an issue with this and find it tends to be the wrong type of people who request this (ie the people who were never going to win anyway and try to stop other players having fun in the process because they don’t know how to handle aerial units). One such case was the first time I saw the white witch trick used, in retribution to a dragon attack or some other attack I made. My only concern with aerial units is bat attacks in mass because they are so difficult to defend from, although there is a hack where for some reason crossbowmen in siege towers appear more immune and more easily shoot them down. In towers this is not the case. Dragons seem ineffective on estates once you place several wells. My favourite dragon is the Ice Dragon, I personally find the others are not effective at doing anything or very little at least. The evil dragon is also useless often getting killed without inflicting damage or very little. The damage is not effective enough, though granted it is cheaper than the other two, but I’m cheaper because it is worse. My concern with Bedivere is that his ability is too wide ranging, ie it has the possibility to tackle multiple layers of wall at once which I don’t think should be the case. But compared to Percival and other units from other factions this is a minor problem. I’m currently in Edinburgh this week but I will reply properly later.
  13. For the first time ever yesterday, I played my first Capture the Flag game, but it didn’t really go to plan……. This was followed up by a second game with the same person a few minutes later. I was disappointed to say I didn’t even get a chance to use the Werewolf Launcher this time! Has anyone else ever played Capture the Flag and if so what did you think of it? Personally I found it far too easy and was disappointed it was kind of a baked down version of Deathmatch.
  14. It must have been a beta version - I just installed 1.0 and it's not the same as above.
  15. Does anyone recognise these screenshots? I've been forwarded a link to a website by @ Average tahiti enjoyer initially speculating this was a mod, but I can find lots of different examples of the exact same screenshot being used on other websites so I'm beginning to wonder if it was released by Firefly instead, possibly as some kind of demo. I couldn't find any download links, at least on that website. I like this build and think it would be good to have as a mod of some kind.
  16. Greetings fellow Stronghold modders! This is a quick announcement to inform you that in future any announcements regarding Stronghold Legends mods will no longer be made in this forum (within reason). Discussuon related to Stronghold Legends mods will now be held in the Stronghold Legends Modders community, including any announcements or releases. You should check or subscribe to this Club for updates on your favourite mods or those developed by the site. The intention is to eventually transition all other discussion and announcements into similar Clubs for each standalone game. The purpose of these clubs is to promote discussion and communication between mod developers and the general community, and also to increase community engagement. If you are an author of a Stronghold Legends mod, you are welcome to submit a request to either myself or another Administrator who can provide capability for your mod to be added into the community for discussion and engagement. The general idea is to centralise all discussion surrounding mods in this community. Each mod will receive a standalone topic/tab within the community, within reason. Mods are to be developed behind the scenes within either a private club for those Mod developers only or over channels such as offsite or the PM system. This topic will be updated as/when more groups are created and will serve as a reference to all modders’ clubs on the site.
  17. Hi @ Average tahiti enjoyer Are you referring to Stronghold 2 or Stronghold Legends? My understanding from Steam was that you were looking to change on Stronghold 2. In Stronghold Legends, you can already switch colours, could you elaborate a little on your request please?

  20. When it comes to maps, that is a simple one - only Stronghold Nation will be open for map submissions at the moment. There is simply too much administration involved. I suppose when it comes to where to post - both communities have a different audience and reach different people. It depends on your point of view and what is a priority for you, what I can say though is that Stronghold Nation is likely to have a bigger reach and more activity at least at first, as well as exclusive coverage of Warlords, as it has not been undergoing the kind of neglect HG has. Don't forget, this is probably 15 years in the making. I remember noticing all these problems (and had discussions with at least one staff member on security issues) back when I first started Stronghold Nation, which was one reason I started the site originally.
  21. Dear Lords and Ladies, Over the past few years, a decrease in contributions by Stronghold Heaven staff has led to the collapse of this fansite. Earlier this year, the forums and downloads were officially locked by one of the senior Administrators from HeavenGames management. This meant that as of this point in time, Stronghold Nation is the only major fansite & option outside of Steam, although specific community groups like the Unofficial Crusader Patch (UCP) do exist. After discussions with HeavenGames management, I can confirm that I have been chosen and appointed to run this community and open it back up to the public once more. Over coming weeks and months I will look to refactor and significantly improve the website and its offering to members and the public. I would like to see both SHN and SHH work in tandem with one another moving forwards, and there is much collaboration potential between the two communities, most notably in things such as cross-site Tournaments and multiplayer games. Stronghold Heaven will remain independently operated from Stronghold Nation, however both websites will be run by myself moving forwards. This follows the acquisition of the Stronghold Fandom Wiki, currently in progress, and the previous acquisition of the former Stronghold Knights fansite (albeit domain name only for now) by Stronghold Nation. The old SHK database does still exist but there are current difficulties in navigating its whereabouts. If you do still have any content from this website, please let me know and I/you can upload it to SHN with appropriate credits in place. If you are interested in getting involved, there are numerous ways you can contribute: If you own a Stronghold fansite or website on anything related to Stronghold, I will soon be updating this page: https://stronghold2.heavengames.com/community/links/ It would be good to have an updated link archive on those websites still operating, considering this one is probably 15 years out of date. Any problems you are aware of on either the Stronghold Heaven or Stronghold 2 Heaven websites. I will look at and conduct a thorough review of these once everything is ready. I will be looking to grow the team, so if you are interested in getting involved or contributing, please personal message me on this forum. The same offer also extends to Stronghold Nation. Lastly, please share the word. Given the nature of how the internet is evolving many traditional communities are collapsing. I think it is important to maintain and look after these, considering how important it is to build up a knowledge base over time, and ensure things continue to operate in the future. With today's decision I can commit to keeping the SHH forums open to business for the forseeable future, and Stronghold Nation operating as the largest and most well maintained fansite in history. The site itself (SHN) has a number of future plans which will be announced in due course. Kindest regards @ Lord_Chris SHN Owner & Webmaster
  22. In a move somewhat as spectacular as Sean Connery's 1964 Goldfinger escape, "Do you expect me to talk?", the decision has been made, after discussion with @ Sir Windows to promote him to the Global Moderators group! Thank you very much for your service m'lord and looking very much forward to working with you! May I be the first to wish him all the best in his new role and heartfully thank him for his help, advice and expertise! I know you will make a great addition to the team and it is an honour to have you on board.
  23. Hi @ Isaiah This is not actually an error but rather by design. There are no articles for that category. Things are a little light on some of the areas, and for much of the site's history it was mostly myself adding articles. I tended to focus on those areas or games of most interest to myself (Stronghold 2, Legends etc) rather than older games where there was sufficient amounts covered elsewhere like HeavenGames. The good news is that the community now has a bigger team and we are interested in providing more content to users. If you are interested in filling in any of the gaps, we would be most grateful for it and be sure to feature the content you provide. In future I would like to see more of a community focus on the site with less emphasis on staff doing everything and more community interaction and engagement. There will also be an effort to re-post and update content from the old Stronghold Knights site, since technically I took over control of that a few years ago now, and also from the Fandom Wiki which is due to migrate here. I hope this helps, but as always please let me know if you have any further questions. Chris.
