This simple wooden gate will keep out the local wildlife along with some of the lesser enemy foot soldiers but it is unlikely to stand up to a siege for long. It will close automatically however if the enemy should draw near.

The small stone gatehouse provides a weak entry point to the castle. It is ideal for defending your inner walls, not recommended for the outer walls of a large castle.

Cost: 100
The strongest and most imposing stone gatehouse with a drawbridge. This gatehouse is expensive and bulky but is good for the ultimate strong entrance point and for use with moat defence. It can be paired with a {barbican} at the other end of the drawbridge.

Cost: 40
The curtain gatehouse is the simplest stone gatehouse you can place. It features a door to allow peasants in and out but no defensive platform to place troops.
