Towers - Stronghold 3 Buildings

Towers

Wooden Platform

Platform

Cost: 10 wood

A simple, cheap but weak wooden platform which provides a small defensive advantage for archers and crossbowmen.

Wooden Tower

Wooden Tower

Cost: 20 wood

Taller and stronger than the wooden platform, the wooden tower provides extra defensive cover but is still inferior to the stone towers.  A good option if you only have wood available.

Watch Tower

Watch Tower

Cost: 40 stone

This is the smallest and cheapest stone tower, providing a good viewing platform.  It is too small to hold siege equipment.

Square Tower

Square Tower

Cost: 50 stone

Stronger than the Lookout Tower, the Square Tower also has capacity for more archers.

Round Tower

Round Tower

Cost: 70 stone

Similar to the square tower except that it’s bigger, stronger and rounder.

Royal Tower

Royal Tower

Cost: 90 stone

The royal tower has the same capacity for defensive troops as the round tower but is the tallest tower in the game.

Great Tower

Great Tower

Cost: 120 stone

The great tower is not as tall as the royal tower but is the strongest tower available and features the largest area for defending troops.

Engine Tower

Engine Tower

Cost: 50 stone

A fairly strong square tower, the engine tower is unique because it is the only tower designed to hold siege equipment.  Troops cannot however be stationed on the engine tower.

Tower Engines

Ballista

Ballista

Cost: 100 gold, 10 honour

The ballista is a very accurate piece of equipment.  It takes a while to reload, but the deadly long bolt is very effective against enemy siege equipment and can also help to wipe out heavily armoured troops.

Mangonel

Mangonel

Cost: 100 gold

The mangonel fires a volley of rocks towards the enemy.  They are particularly effective against infantry but their random nature means they are very inaccurate and you must be careful not to hit your own troops and buildings.

Harpoon

Harpoon

Cost: 100 gold

The harpoon launcher fires barbed hooks attached to a rope in an attempt to pull over enemy siege equipment.  When target equipment is hit and the harpoon is lodged into it, the rope is reeled in with great force, causing considerable damage as the harpoon is torn out.

Hay Bale Launcher

Hay Bale Launcher

Cost: 100 gold

The hay bale thrower launches burning bales of hay into the night sky, allowing you to light areas of the map that are covered in darkness and reveal nearby enemies.
