When a Warrior distinguished himself in battle (either as part of his Impis or by individual combat) – he could be awarded The Ingxotha. These were either made of metal or wood. Simple in design, they were to be worn on either arm of the Warrior. Metal (iron) versions, were bent and polished pieces, while wooden variations could be shaped into patterns (and were often longer in design). They were very much similar to the Ancient Roman Armilla Award (with likewise similar rules for issue).
